Childhood Friends
We grew with the seasons,
sprouting into our own saplings.
While our branches grew so long and strong,
they have crossed and moved on.
The air sways our leaves
to the pitch of fainted memories.
The only attachment left are our roots
grasping around in hopes they stay.
As the days pass and our resources are demanded.
We share with people our life and seeds,
so we have no choice but to proceed
our presence elsewhere.

This poem was inspired by my own childhood friend connection. I moved cities when i was younger but i always kept this one friend. But its hard to keep someone in your life when you dont truely know who they are anymore. people change and grow but they wont always together.
