Candy Store
To go to a candy store,
to open the doors
to your inner child.
To gape your glistening eyes,
reflecting the kaleidoscope
of colors.
To savor
the sweet, the sour,
the hard, the soft,
the muted, and vibrant colors.
To feel as though you can't chew
fast enough before
taking another bite.
To inhale the scent of chocolate
and assorted gummies, breathing
in a sense of nostalgia.
To overhear kids pleading for money
saved up in their piggy banks
for some specific sweet.
To step on the sticky
dropped goos and melts
that grasp your shoe
to hold you in place.
To leave a candy store,
to remember you won't always
have a child’s sweet tooth.

This piece was inspired by my major sweet tooth but my parents always saying id rot my teeth, so i wanted to create my own candy store.
