Hard battle
Mental health
It is a hard battle
Many people struggle with it
You are always battling like a fighter trying to win the fight
You want to break free
You try your hardest to break free like a person breaking out of jail
You try hard but it stays
You think it is gone then it can come back
You don’t know why this is happening
You want it to be gone
Then one day it is
Not for long though it comes and goes
You just want to be left alone
But the truth is it is hard to stop
You have to push harder than you ever have like a person pushing something uphill
You have to tell yourself that you need help
You can’t be scared
Then finally you get help
You break free from it
You have won!

Dear poetry editor,
I hope you will take a look at my poem about mental health. My poem is called "Hard Battle". I feel this will be good for your magazine because a lot of teens battle with mental health.
I am a senior in high school. I am a beginning poet.
Sincerely, Lexie
