70 Years Not Enough
Long Live the British Queen
She may be 95
She lives longer than her love machine
She’s there as England’s guide
Today marks her seventh decade on the throne
But we know she will rule for 70 more
For she is no old crone
Her majesty celebrates not for her anniversary
Although the people celebrate her longevity
Pressing matters wane heavily
Like remembering to take her meds weekly
I fear that only god knows her mortality
Don’t fret over her grace
The throne has a definite successor
Charles will fill the gap in her place
That is if he’s not six feet under
Her subjects demand seven more decades
She is the icon of the Royal lineage
The only one the public desires
Her rule has been never before seen
For that is why the public kneels for their British queen

I am a student that wasn't much interested in poetry until the poetry unit where we started to write poetry. That is how I got into it.
