One, two, three
One:
A kid with a mask
Cautious and face clasped
Never close, never near
Never losing his fear
He sees a kid lack
Protection against death in black
Turns away to hide his worry
Over a kid that is now blurry
Humming a tune
A funeral song coming soon
Two:
A girl, brave and stupid
Hoping for wealth and love from Cupid
Finds a guy,
With golden tan and blue dye,
Like a warrior of long gone
Strong and brawn
Love comes, love goes
Tries again, another dried rose
Sings a song
A prayer to love and to belong
Three:
A boy with dark hair
Whining about life unfair
Rules suck, they really do
So why should he follow a rule that isn’t true?
He tries to change the status quo
But no one listens to a boy who doesn’t grow
So he tries to grow, to try again
Forgets his goal of before and then
A chorus sings
“Everybody has clipped wings”
We all have fears
We all have hopes
We all have dreams
We all have nightmares
We never give up
We never give in
We all want the same thing
Hopes and dreams and fears and nightmares
We all just need to listen to the voice inside
We all need to hear the song in our heart
