EVENING
a maroon tablecloth lays on the dinner table
like a tight fitted shirt on a man
with freshly washed plates and utensils spread on the burnished table
the only thing to hear was the sizzle of food
the fresh scent of the ocean swirls around the room
while the broken glasses are under the table
to pierce and poke the new guests soon to arrive
a loud knock is evident at the front door that would impact the evening
six chairs are under the table
with a surprise waiting for them
the moon was dancing across the floor called the sky the whole evening
And the stars were watching in the audience
