Hollow Man

February 9, 2022

The boy walked in abrupt footsteps

His legs shaken by the weight on his shoulders

His feet enveloped in exhausted blisters

The path in front of him mocked his efforts

But he remained

The wind shrieked its winter chill

Burning his face from all angles

Tearing into his soul

His conscious began to fade

But his body remained defiant

So he roared at the sky for help

Something he had never done before

And the heavens roared back

Casting a shadow on his heart

But he remained

A hollow man

I feel like giving up so much. To just stop trying and give in. No matter how hard it hurts, how much it breaks me down. I still remain. Visit https://www.teenink.com/ HealthResources if you or a loved one is feeling depressed, overwhelmed, or suicidal.
