A Child's Inevitable Cycle
A baby bird is dependent,
Grasping for its mother’s tender care
Fed and taken care of, taught to be it's own.
The mother teaches the baby bird to fly.
To fly, and use its wings to soar through the sky.
Moving on, on its own; independently
With the mother left alone.
The nest is bare, the nest is silent
No more full of cries, it is vacant.
But the bird is new, the bird is wise,
The bird is excited about new adventures that will arise.
Mother is left with an empty nest
Not even a little excited about all the rest.
All she knows is taking care of her young
She knew this day would come, heartbroken
That now her child’s life has just begun.
The bird is independent.
