Creamy Happiness

My heart skips a beat as I see three tubs
of homemade heaven waiting for me on the metal table.
I stack my bowl three scoops high
and envelope the blissful delight in luscious chocolate syrup.
Within a minute, the blazing hot sun
melts away my once-frozen ice cream
but it can’t melt away my happiness.
I stare at my bowl for a second before lifting it up
to my lips to slurp down the liquid.
