Dated back years too far to count.

A diary message perhaps,

unfolding at my fingertips.

Reading‒revealing the life

of not who I know. 

Yet, something exceptionally engaging

about the envelope held in my hands

draws me to surmise I know this life.

Uncovering the story, 

Uncovering their secrets

Uncovering the life they tried to hide.

Thinking the only way to survive

is to cross a vast body of water

and begin a new journey.

Intriguing, for I too am beginning a journey.

Except, aren't we all?

Searching for any sign the path is right?

At last, this is my sign.
