There is a place where the cornrows grow
And before the dirt begins
And there are the little sprouts
And there is the pouring rain
And there is the scolding sun
To eventful for the Olympics
Let us leave the dusty floorboards
And the rusty water
Past the dark basement
We shall run like the world depends on it
And watch as the trees grow tall
To the place where the cornrows grow
Yes we will run like the world depends on it
And we’ll watch the trees grow tall
Because wherever we go we all know
This is where the cornrows grow
