Dreary Season
Dreary Season:
Two separate Christmas’s all for me!
My siblings were excited with glee!
Our parents are split,
but we get twice as many Christmas gifts!
The planning, decorating, and cheer
spread for just one year!
What a great one it is!
The screams filled the air
Instead of song,
Presents were held over our heads,
Rather than given with love
Resentment was felt on both sides,
Pretending to celebrate a Christmas with storms inside

I am a senior attending high school in Missouri, and I love art and writing. This poem is about a difficult time in my life, and I hope others can relate.
