A Paralyzed Stomach
The time vanished into a depth of an IV bag
Stale as the words that to me still rested on
my doctors tongues
waiting to crush my world into saltine crumbs
easy and quick
My life returned to the sterile hospital beds
and the lack of privacy given by the nurses
who every hour checked to see if your heart
was still beating with the same pain
My childhood squeezed into syringes and
pain patches
as the dostared at my battle wounds
ooing and awwing at the one of a kind kid-
GAstroparesis is like potato peels curling in the depths of my stomach with no way out
Only ginger ale bubbles and worn out
childhood memories
The stars that danced to the tunes of my life now observe with pity
But I wouldnt change it for anything

I suffer from Gastroparesis, POTS, and Fibromyalgia. I spend more time at the hospital than I do at school so I wrote a poem about the sturggles of being chronically ill.
