I Hate The Way
I hate the way you took a knife and stabbed it in my back
I hate the way you denied the truth and put on a whole act
I hate the way you said you'd be here for me 'til the end
And then it turned out it was a game of pretend.
I hate how you didn't care whenever I was depressed
I hate how you really meant "Stop acting so oppressed!"
I hate how you don't know how to help anyone at all
I hate how you blame others for your own downfall.
I hate that you don't understand how I feel
You say you don't need to experience it, but you don't know what's real
I hate that you don't get the pity that you deserve
And that you keep talking about me, from what I observe.
I'm furious that you ruined and made everything worse
I'm curious of why you thought to act as if you were in a curse
I'm annoyed that you mention me in a puddle of shame
But I know one thing for sure, I'm not the one to blame.

This poem is about my ex-best friend who ended our friendship due to a misunderstanding of me "ignoring her", which was really just depression. I wrote this poem because I feel upset at her and feel like if I had the chance to tell her something, this is exactly what I would say to her. I hope you enjoy this poem. 🖤
