Your Prose
When I read your letters that you called love
I now realize that your prose was void of the feelings that you tried to capture
You made believe the romance we had and then your words left me abruptly in reality
My eyes cloud with the impending doom that will hopefully wash the hurt away
But it hasn’t yet
Even if I read each letter over and over again
I could still see our memories all in my head
Yet when I open my eyes I see my tears instead
My reverie transports me to the memories of the day when I left you
I remember my feet wanted to stay, but my heart wouldn’t let me
Leaving you was hard but pretending that you fell in love with me was harder
When I told you the news
your face was in my hand
No tears shedding
While my heart was in your hands
Utterly broken
I hope you feel the same love I had for you to someone else
I hope you could merge reality and euphoria into one
A reality where you could be confidently in love
You showed me what love could have been
I hope you learn what it should be
And when you write to the one
I hope your prose will be full of love
