the library

He's at the library again, to fill his head with knowledge.

To look at the colorless pages, and imagine them in color.

To experience another world, a world that is fiction.

As he was sitting there, with his nose in a book,

Someone with golden brown hair, with hints of red walked in.

She looked at the fiction as well.

Her hand ran down the spine of a grass green book.

Her heels clicked like a clock.

She sat at the table across from him.

He couldn't help but look from behind his book.

It seemed as if no time passed yet the clock moved an hour.

It was time for him to leave, but he did not want to.

He’d see her again tomorrow, he knows because she said she would be there.

Tomorrow rolled up and he eagerly awaited his break, so he can go to the library

Like he usually does, this time he's gonna talk to her.

It was in the afternoon when he finally got his chance.

His heart was dancing as he rode his bike, to the library.

When he arrived, he was panting like a dog.

His heart was a weight in his chest when he saw no one.

Just the bright orange light of golden hour, shining through the big windows.

She is not here? He thought. Why not? Did something happen?

He waited till the golden sun started to disappear.

Still no sign of her.

It's like this for a while, she did not come back.

It's not summer anymore and he accepted he would maybe never see her again.

The ground was covered with multicolored leaves, but his eyes only saw grey.

The gutters were a river, flowing rapidly down the street.

He walked in his brown rain boots to the library.

The library was warm, it was comforting, it was his favorite place to be.

His finger flipped the last page of the book.

This adventure was over, time for a new one.

He scanned the bookshelf

As he grabbed a book off the fifth shelf, it created an opening.

On the other side, she was there.

The grey-ness of his autumn became colorful in an instant.

She noticed him too.

In his surprise he smiled and said “hi”

They sat down at a table

They talked about their day.

They talked about their favorite books.

Everyday in the last light of day,

They came to the library
