Childhood Is Me
I am a child of times and places,
of things and values that my heart embraces.
Christmas and Hanukkah fill my Decembers,
With giving me joyful times to remember.
Traditions of light, festivals of giving,
houses full of families and lives full of living.
My childhood is a picture album seen through a screen,
a blur of clicks, likes and swipes from age one to 14,
a trip to the future in a time travel machine.
I am made of swimming pools and ice cream cones,
fireworks and snow days,
summer camp and movie nights,
trampolines and bug spray.
I am childhood and childhood is me.
I look to the past for all that I can be.

I was inspiried to write this poem because all these things are apart of who I am and make me different from everyone else.
