Cinnamon
She’s just like cinnamon, sweet with a little spice,
And if you look close enough, you’ll see the flames behind her eyes.
From a distance, it seems like she’s harmless and weak,
But if you get close enough she can burn you, leaving you unable to speak.
Oh cinnamon, she’s so blissfully unaware,
Every day she runs straight into the fire, the wind blowing in her hair.
When she jumps right in, she’ll rise like a phoenix from the ashes,
And you’ll pray you to get close enough, to see behind those fluttering lashes.

This piece was written for a school project where I had to compare the main character to something, and ended up comparing her to cinnamon.
