What the wolves lost
The wolves stalked these woods,
they owned the lands for miles,
they were free to roam,
and hunt and face their trials,
they were the creatures,
above all the rest,
they were the ones,
who were better than best,
but good times are made,
just to be ended,
for humans invaded,
a world which they "mended",
they wished to create,
a better place for them to live,
but sharing their new home,
with wolves, when they could not give?
so the wolves were drove,
out from where they belonged,
how could they do right,
when they had been wronged?
so the wolves grew dark and bitter,
they wished to take back their lost,
they raged wars on the humans,
whom they should never have crossed,
for humans had cheated,
in the struggle of two,
they knew of a thing,
a wolves could not do,
they brought to the battles,
a new thing so dire,
the wolves lost great numbers,
to the flames and the fire,
and forced to retreat,
the wolves hid back in the dark,
where they still hate the humans,
who took their voices; their bark,
they were made the villians,
in fairytale stories,
for humans to slay,
and be happy in their glories,
but this was unfair,
for they'd done no wrong,
to those wretched humans,
who didn't belong.
