New Millennia
Walk along the sea
And let the shallows swallow you in
As I promised to let you see the stars tonight
With the clouds in the sky blanketing what's to be there
So I point to a lighthouse
And a telephone pole or two
Making you a constellation
The shape of a figure 8
Your symbol of luck
And your idea of freedom
The loops swaying around the piston
And the pivot of the tower
And as the timer counts to zero
We can barely see the lights down at the harbor
But with a laurel and a promise
We face the future headstrong
