A Masterpiece
Growing up,
my parents said
that I’d be the next Michaelangelo.
Vivid colors
dancing on the pages of my sketchbook.
I wince
as my paintbrush dances
across my canvas,
my silver brush
scraping
across my thighs.
Crimson red puddles at my ankles.
I paint with silver and red.

All of my writing is inspired by my personal experiences. I hope my poems spread awareness about the reality of mental health, and I hope they show other young people that they are not alone.
