There’s you.
I see faces in the China hutch drawers
On the chairs, windows, and doors
On gaping crumbling balconies
On brick walls.
Dressed up in faces
Ascending staircases
I open my drawer of faces
Choose today’s hue
Dressed up in faces
Skylet, star bright
Broken ice blue
Somewhere among the faces
There’s you
Lips, wide as the sun
Eyes, a waning moon
All dressed up
For milkshakes and todays
Golden amber
Desert maroon
