Hesitation
Possibly

Perhaps
To remember is to feel touched.
Then is forgetting to be unaffected?
Possibly
To speak up is to be empowered.
Then why is my speech deflected?
Maybe
Am I straying from my place?
Am I unreasonable and loud?

Or is my fear a symptom of my plight?
Is the nature of my questions indication enough?
Perhaps
These questions flood my mind
Washing over me
My confidence lost to the current
My identity swept away by the tide
My stagnation is by design
My loss for words buys them time
I lose my voice and with it
I lose my power.
