Sun Down

Arctic wind ruffles the trees,

Snow falls hitting the soft floor with ease.

Mountains so tall they scrape the sky,

The sun falls making the air dry.

Animal tracks cross over the plains,

In a looping motion like chains.

Silence spreads throughout the wild,

As silent as a sleeping child.

Peaking through the cloudy atmosphere,

Shimmering stars began to appear.

No living beings in sight,

As the day turns into a cold dark night.

I am currently a senior at a private school in Seattle, Washington. I am taking an honors creative writing course right now and am really enjoying it because I find it is a great way of expressing creativity with my words. I love to write poetry/songs, draw and be outside. I hope you enjoy the poem.
