Mothers Job
Let me count the ways
I’ve been hurt.
Father wasn’t pleased when I confronted him.
After I found out he had an affair
I was heartbroken.
How would you react if
If you saw your mother balling her eyes out
because the man she loved,
the man she married,
the man she was supposed to spend the rest of her life with cheated.
That day after I confronted him,
he gave up on me so I gave up on him.
I tried holding on but it was like holding on to a hopeless tree.
I broke down.
My mom was there to comfort me,
“who broke your heart” she said.
We both laughed.
Even though we were sad,
my mother was strong.
I was supposed to comfort her
but here she is comforting me.
I guess a mothers job is never done.

I wrote this to show how strong my mother is and how other mothers are very strong and we don't realize that.
