HIGH SCHOOL SCENERY
Green, trampled grass
Dried leaves and
An apple tree.
In the breaks between its branches
The rays of sunshine peer through
Twenty-six geese
Black, white and grey
Dressed in suits of their feathers
Royal Oak’s vandalized rock
A cream-white generator
The whirring of it’s engine
A man in a neon green construction vest
One goose stands tall over the others
But eats a leaf instead of an apple
It must not taste good
They all sit
As the quiet day proceeds
