You're a shapeshifter 

coming in many different forms

the monster in my closet or a rose without any thorns

each day a new face 

doesn't matter rain or shine

I'll just have to adapt to it

I do every time

but I'm getting tired 

of all the mean scolds 

because I will never know 

what the next day will hold

It's about my mother who struggles with substance abuse and how everyday is a new challenge waiting to happen and how I'm getting used to all of the changes in her personality.
