Alone
To feel true loneliness isn’t to just be alone
But to know your surrounded by people you know and love
Knowing you could simply reach out to anyone
But you don’t because you feel like you would just burden them
So instead you just distance yourself, so your not thinking about anything
You could easily lose yourself in the distraction
But you always have that feeling in the background…
Your heart aches even when you know you have responsibilities
When you have loved ones always a call away
But you won’t go to them you can’t burden them
So instead you feel like your always looking for ways to distract yourself
Constantly needing things to do so you don’t have a moment alone
With your thoughts and breakdown
Even when it’s tempting…
But you can’t no matter how easily it would be
Everything would be so much better if you didn’t have to feel
But not everything is so simple
It’ll always be there
That feeling that makes
your breath hitch, your nose burn, your chest tighten
But you just shake your head, pinch your nose, and distract yourself
Because it’s easier to act as if nothing is wrong
Because it's all you’ve ever done
All you’ll ever do..
