Viridian Jealousy
green is the color i see when you look
at her. i hate the color green. it makes
my stomach roil. she opens a book,
she delicately turns the page, the lakes
of blue that make up her eyes are the color
of ice, so pale and lifeless. what do you
see in her? time passses she gets duller,
she doesn't get you the way i do.
not just like, she is every other girl,
in every face i pass, cookie cutter,
i am a diamond, she’s only a pearl.
her eyes are empty, cold, no clutter
viridian is the shade i see when
you look at her, my stomach hurts again.
