Summer Evenings

October 19, 2021
By Anonymous

The sun fades

To orange sapphires

To yellow diamonds

To red rubies

To blue topaz

As families

dock their boats

After a smooth cruise

on the water

The breeze

Gets cooler and cooler

It pierces my face

With its chill

The sun

Disappears

More and more

Like a ghost in the night

The water

Gets chillier

The waves

Get choppier

The flags

Flap in the wind

Louder and louder

Over and over again

Dusk through dawn

This piece reflects on what my summer averaged summer night looked like this past summer, my last summer at my becah house before we sold it.
