Look at me,
What do you see?
Do my eyes,
Reflect the past?
Regret and shame,
Within these eyes,
Sadness and loneliness,
Hidden in a smile.
Don’t be alarmed,
At what you see,
Life is cruel,
For people like me.
People who are different,
People who seem,
To always be lost in a dream.

I'm glad that at least one of us has found some peace with themselves, unfortunately I'm still trying to do that.

When I was growing up, I hated myself, sometimes desperately, because I was short and easily ignorable. I am still like that much of the time. But I am learning to accept that's who I am and I am special the way I am. I don't need to apologize for looking or thinking different.
