Teacher
I watch words float
Above people heads
Their thought broadcasted
Where only I can see them
The words layed out
across her head
Her thought bare
For me to see
A mind
I dared not to decipher
No matter how much I tried
It locked me out
My middle school brain
My good grades
Fallen because of a person
Who locked me out
It is open to me now
Her brain
Her thoughts
The emotions
I open the door
To the safe
Her defenses fall
a small sigh
Her room is empty
The door shut
A pill bottle lays at her feet
A note on her dresser
I turn to my students
“That is how you take a life
Clean up this body
Don't be late for the next class”
