My Own Best Friend
The night is my own best friend
And the day is my greatest enemy
All of my favorite memories happen at night
I remember listening to new music
While my room was lit by any color I picked
I remember loud voices and booms in the middle of the night
The night can be calm and silent
It can also be wild and rowdy
A lot of fun can happen at night
Going to places with friends
Going to the movies
And it can be a gateway to my imagination
When the sun come up
The fun ends
People have to go to school
People have to go to work
You have to be productive
But when the night crawls back
The fun spreads like wildfire
The happiness returns
That’s why I’m in love with the night
And not with the day
