To Be A Mormon

To go to an ugly brick building filled with inaccurate,

sloppy paintings

To walk in and see a painting of white Jesus

To run through the poorly-carpeted halls

To play line tag in the smelly, badly built gym

To be forced to clean it because they want to keep you in line

To be brainwashed from birth

To be asked about your sex life by your bishop in a 1 on 1

meeting when you’re 12

To be considered “worthy” only if you follow all the rules

To have every part of your life controlled

To not be able to make your own choices

To be stuck with your deteriorating mental health and the

knowledge that nobody there accepts you as you are

To be in one of the worst places you can possibly be

To wish you were free

Everyone else here thinks it’s great

They believe the church is true

But they don’t even know the truth

They simply just believe

You don’t know how bad it is

Until you start to leave
