Pandemic School
The third week of school
The classroom filled with purple and gold
Countless novels and short stories fill the cabinets
Army green chalkboard within the front of the room
Filled from top to bottom with today's assignments
Above hangs study habits to learn from
The beige blinds across the room are watched
By distanced classmates,
that are limited to their eight hour day
Desks shift around during the lecture
Lockers slam in the hallway
Posters about life hang to motivate students
Eyes watch the clock to watch the time pass
Calendar of September of 2021
Two months of school has felt like two short weeks
Masks, sanitizer, and disinfectant sit in front of the room
This virus was once was just a short break from school
Now this virus divides our school

This poem best reflects the changes that students have saw in the classroom since the 2019 virus.
