Missing, but Making Memories
I used to go out frequently
Spending time with my best friends
Alex and Matthew
We would watch movies
Go to concerts
Stop by new boba shops to try
Out their new teas and bubble pearls
Stay up late from the caffeine in the tea
And just enjoy ourselves and our company
We would flock towards the new trends, the new hypes
Or try to make them ourselves
Today, I instead make new memories with my family
My sisters and I bake often
And watch movies
And video call our grandma
We would actually swim in our pool
And use it almost every day
I miss my friends
But I never realized I had other friends
Just outside my door
Down the hall
A knock or two away
Waiting to spend time with me too

This piece reflects how over the course of the pandemic, I was able to become closer with my family and my siblings. Instead of going out to have fun with friends, I found that I could have as much or even more fun with my sisters at home safe from the coronavirus.
