A Tribute to the Queen
Royalty, it is in her name,
Her crown shines brightly for all to see,
The flourishing queen she has become.
Attracting thousands from all over to breathe her air,
Savor her delicious food,
Admire her leafy trees,
Drive her smooth roads,
And believe that there is no place like their new home.
Her hospitality is unmatched, and she cherishes kids,
Who go from crying, and screaming, and playing,
To grow up to do exceptional things,
Like rain three-pointers in the Golden State,
Or wrestle with a relentless Flair,
She even adopted a “Jumpman,”
For the small cost of 30 million dollars.
However, the queen is not flawless.
What is the use of building skyscrapers,
If those at the bottom struggle to build up finances?
How can we achieve equality,
If not everybody began in the same place?
How many people is too many?
Will all the excess concrete,
Uproot and kill the trees?
Nevertheless, she keeps maturing,
Striving to be better each day,
In preparation for a greater tomorrow,
Where the people are still friendly,
The children are still playful,
And the city still buzzes like a hive,
Paying respect to its queen bee.
