Chained on rocks with my heart locked,

I am forever stuck and forced to watch.

The dress I wore was torn apart and

sprinkled with tears in a water of fear.

The serpent swims closer, covering my sky.

My heart sinks deeper than an anchor.

The flattering dress I used to wear

revealed dignity, luxury, extravagance.

But look at me now.

A Goddess envied my beauty

and threw all her anger and spite on me.

I felt ashamed, but am I the one to blame?

Now, the serpent covers up the entire world,

splashes the water

getting closer, closer

until even the sky blackens.

I close my eyes.

I am no princess now.

My new dress is threaded with

fright, horror and dread…

Resigned to this fate, I wait

for the end of my torture.

But then he smashes it down,

tears it open to its end.

His armor: arrogance, strength, power

to help release me from my fate.

Though I am saved,

I can’t help but wonder:

what dress must I wear now?
