She was tied down

by her fears

poison of words

Enter

her bloodstream

she screamed

no help

no one else

it was her battle

dying slowly

No cure

No answers.

eyes rolled back

heart slowed

she fell into a coma.

Only she can break out

awake again

all the people who support her watch on

in horror

Tears streaming down their faces,

they wonder,

Will she wake up

or

die in front of them

Faint beeping,

heart monitor,

ventilator wheezing,

among the quiet room,

was all she would hear.

Out-of-body experience

she stood next too

lifeless body

watching

Studying

the nurses come and go

sorrow in their eyes

Stay and fight?

OR

die in vain

Devastation

The sight in her parent’s eyes

Itchy hospital bed

Bright illuminating lights

Rubbing alcohol

Dry mouth

Her friend

walks in

Time slows

The world doesn’t move

 She breaks

salty liquid

runs

down her cheeks

Knees buckle

Slams

the ground

heartbreaking scream

breaks

her lips.

Vitals shoot up

normal conditions

 without brain activity

Orange

 faces of hope

Of family

Heartbreaking sight

Not a dry eye in the room

A spark of

life

put shackles on her wrists and ankles

hold her in place

searing

skin

touched the metal

Drive

Adrenaline

runs through her body

strength

shatters the shackles.

Life returns to her body

Pumps in her bloodstream

She sits up

removes the ventilator

nurses rush in

Finalizing

she alive to the world

again
