Grasp the damp earth between your frigid fingertips,

caress the soft grains as the solution cascades down

your forearm,  tributaries of inky gloom pooling beneath you.

Search for the warmth radiating within its core; allow her nutrients

To waltz through your pores; let her give you life. A mere piece

of the fruitful essence of the river flowing through your veins,

the untamed, whistling current engraved in bones.

Feel the tingling nuzzle of sunlight on your sunken cheek as

its rays, thick like nectar outstretch. Saunter through the mossy

Canopy of the oaks. Ancient roots etched into the soil whisper

Secrets of past lives, uncovered only by those who ache to listen.

Those who seek comfort in the uncomfortability of existing.

Look up to the flickering stars, trace the constellations and you will see.

The orientation of life falling into place, heed the faint hum of the

Boundless spiraling galaxy. You will navigate through the weeping

Skies, no longer grieving over the essence of what could’ve been.

You are more than the shortcomings; believed to define you.

You are the eerie glow of fireflies on a humid summer evening.

The click of a camera before capturing a perfect moment. You are
The morning dew droplets resting among leaves after a storm.

This piece was inspired by my crystals and the connection that I want to deepen with nature. I really took in my surroundings and just tried to write about them in a way that gave me a reason to want to be here.
