That One Street
That one street you grew up on.
That one street where you met
all your childhood friends.
That one street where you can hang out
with the same people and not get tired of them.
That one street that is isolated from the rest.
That one street you see out your
window everyday.
That one street most the kids walk
barefoot and get pebbles in their toes.
That one street you can hear
kids play at peace.
That one street that needs to be redone.
That one street you can smell the cow farm from.
That one street that was once surrounded by
endless fields of dirt.
That one street that is now surrounded
by blossoming trees.
That one street you never get tired of.
That one street where all your
worries and doubts go away.
That one street where home is.

I was inspired by a notebook entire from my creative writing class about childhood. Before this notebook entire, I was stumped with finding a topic to write my poem about. No matter where you grew up I feel like you can resonate with this poem. Each person grew up in a specific place and there are little things that make that place special to them.
