Clouds
For hours I gazed at the clouds floating in the sky,
Which were motionless as ever before.
Until suddenly, in the blink of an eye,
An entirely different formation clouded my sight.
So imperceptible was the change
From the velutinous white cotton balls,
So soft one could simply melt in the cumulus fluff,
To the delicate, wispy streams of feather,
A cold, sharp, cirrus with an air of silky sheen;
That I’m reminded of the process of human change.
While overall, one may seem the same,
Gradually, a shift is occurring;
And it is only a matter of time
before the person is completely transformed.
Every year, every day, every second, we all are inevitably changing like a cloud;
Our current experiences soon become our past,
Which we can either learn and grow from,
Or become devoured by.
Look to the past with an optimistic outlook,
And only then will you gain certain, innate wisdom,
And you will transform from cumulus to a cirrus.
