summer is so painful

the sun beats down on my brow

as beauty swells overhead,

          unbearable.

 

i only wish I had a thousand lives

       so that i could see it all.

 

from the swallows swooping overhead, to 

the grass under my feet,

     i know i have only seen the least of it.
