Poison Ivy
Infamous yet hidden.
You can be easily avoided but sometimes
It’s inevitable no matter how hard you try.
You metastasize and invade spaces that aren’t yours to take.
Inviting unwelcomed others until what was,
Is unrecognizable
No one ever knows you’re there
Until all of a sudden your wrath
Devours the body
---
It causes pain that becomes so normal that
Once the body is numb,
You’re only left with the fleeting hope that it retreats.
What we ignored
Turned
To a waiting game
