Rest Easy Brother
CRASH,
Someone loss is someone else's gain,
I tend to think that I am in my brothers shoes
The surroundings alarming, the car going off
The feeling of him losing his life by the second
Not a peep or sound coming from him
No movement from his body
Eyes closed, head pressed against behind the passenger seat
Waiting to be in a body bag...closed up
My mom crying hysterically in the hospital room
Us kids playing around the house in the dark
Gotten quiet when we heard the news
Lost of words, brother dying the others lived
God picked him and he gotten sent to heaven
He gained another angel, yet more to come
I don’t know why so early?
My brother was just a little boy, a baby
Why not let him live his life?
Why take him so early his life didn’t start yet
I don’t understand
Taking someone's life is never fair in any way.
Especially someone close to you.
I have so many questions, all I wanna know is....
Why?

This piece is about my little brother who died at a young age in a car accident. This poem was written a few days before his birthday, and I just want to express my feelings for him. He was funny, happy, and full of energy. I just want to share with the world what I wrote for him and want others to see what he was like.
