Tell him it will be okay even though your scared
Never let him down even if it takes a little fib

Adapt to the way he teaches lessons
Always criticizing and telling in his way
To the way his voice cracks when he yells
How he is so protective of his food

Overcome the struggles in life to prove to him you’re how he wants
You’re better than him
And you’ve made him proud of the father he is
The way he looks at you or talks
He might be confused in some way

I would describe my hero as Semper Fi
Not as a Marine even though he was
But because he will always be faithful to me
