I Want To Know
It's different from what I know
Family photos hanging around the home like art gallery
A nice big sofa for everyone to sit together
They make time to spend with each other
Happy smiling faces of people that work together for a common goal
They love and support each other with their struggles
But it's not what I know
I know bare beige walls that barricade me
I know the quiet meals we eat together
I know the family who falls asleep from a silence filled room
We’re the family i’ve known
But It’s all I know
They sit and talk to each other without it ending in a fight
They don't walk silently to their rooms and cry alone
They don't yell and upset each other
They’re the family I wish I had
It's not what I know
But it’s what I want to know

This piece talks about my admiration of the "perfect" families i've been surrounded by growing up. I want to know what it's like.
