Favorite Quote:
The duty of youth is to challenge corruption. - Kurt Cobain

His eyes drift like the waves of a sea
There’s no one here but him and me
I feel the tension, and not to mention
The pattern of his lies
The way he tends to soothe,
With haunted lullabies
And his incomprehensible self-pity
Is one that defies gravity
The fear to move, to make a sound,
Knowing that he’ll abandon me
“Stay” I wanna say but I know there will never be a day
Where everything comes into place
You can see it, fabrication plastered across his face
And it becomes harder to anticipate,
Impossible to differentiate,
The wavelengths of his tone
For as he’s swearing he loves you so,
He’s peering at his phone
Our eyes collide,
I see mine, mirrored in his pupils
I hear the sound of clattering around,
Like old forgotten soup bowls
It’s increasingly defeating me
With every fatal blow
The way he never seems to know
The impact of his show
The show that persuades many
To fall victim to his cries
And every one who does,
Becomes embedded in his lies
I see the way he seized the day
And replaced heartache with booze
I see the way he went astray
Leaving a ricochet
Of unmistakable tattoos
But daddy,
How can you leave?
How can you leave, I’m only eight years old
How can you rip away the only man
I ever yearned to know
And to this day
He resides some place,
Hidden to the naked eye
For once you find him, you’ll recognize him
By the time he slips on by
