Because I could not choose to Love
Because I could not choose to Love –
I was chosen by she –
I took her hand and walked with her –
A whole new world opened to me –
As we walked, I saw what I could have –
The joy, the trust, the sympathy –
It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen –
It was all my heart desired –
But the end of the road was dark –
There was pain, there was loss –
I wished I had never greeted Love –
I felt that Love was not worth this pain, but she still held my hand –
As we walked out of the darkness –
And my emotions calmed down –
Love showed me the memories –
Of the path before the dark –
I missed the sun and I missed the joy –
Sometimes I still felt the darkness –
Sometimes I forgot the light –
But Love still held my hand –
