I wish I could hear your soft-spoken words more often
Your eloquent tongue becomes so familiar with every word in sight
You eat, live, breathe each syllable.
Leaping from page to mind to tongue to me, breaking my empty stare
And I can’t return the favor; me, I’m illiterate.
